Dimapur, July 11: Deputy Commissioner Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS has notified that all three wheelers are restricted in Mon town with immediate effect.
This is in pursuance of Motor Vehicles Department letter No. TC-148/89/174-88 dated Kohima the 27th Feb 2002 regarding restriction on use of three wheelers in hill sectors and in general interest of road safety and safety of life.
Bus owners: To regulate the traffic and parking of vehicles within Mon town, the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has notified all bus owners and drivers of Mon town that parking of buses on the roadside and at the private station will not be allowed henceforth. Defaulters will be strictly penalized.
The RTA informed that claims and objections, if any, can be submitted to the office of Deputy Commissioner, Mon within 30 days from the date of the issue of the notice.
Abandoned vehicles: In another notification, the DC Mon directed removal of all abandoned vehicles lying on the roadside within 1 week of the issue of the notice by the concerned owners failing which the District administration and police will remove and seize the vehicles. The cost incurred shall be realized from the concerned vehicle owners, he added.
