Dimapur, January 26: The Dimapur district Republic Day celebration was held at DDSC Stadium, Dimapur today with Minister for Forest & Climate Change, Law & Justice, CM Chang unfurling the National Flag and taking salute from 16 parade contingents.
Greeting the people of the state on the occasion Minister said that the day is to remember the founding fathers of the nation with gratitude for their enormous efforts and sacrifices for creating the Republic.
Chang said that the state of Nagaland which came into existence in 1963 as the 16th state of the union of India has also been striving to be a worthy participants in the nation’s quest for achieving equitable development while ensuring social, political and economic equality for all its citizens though the journey has not been without challenges owing to non-settlement of the Naga political issue for which the smooth and unhindered progress of the state on the path of development has been adversely affected. He, however, said that the past few decades have been peaceful, and there has been an air of optimism which has help in providing the right kind of platform for planning and making attempts to move up swiftly on the ladder of development.
On Naga political issue, he said that the sincere efforts put in for the past many years is hopefully going to bear fruit as the negotiations of the government of India with all the various Naga political groups have concluded successfully in a positive manner.
Reminding the commitment of the government towards development and progress and to keep improving the quality of life of the people, the Minister pointed out the importance of developing the human resources of the state, stating that the children and youth need to be endowed with the best of education and skills so that they would be in a position to utilize the opportunities meaningfully.
Tuensang: Along with rest of the nation, Tuensang District also celebrated the 71st Republic Day at Parade Ground Tuensang. Metsubo Jamir, Minister to Rural Development was the special guest.
Ten contingents took part in the Republic Day parade. District commendation awards were given on the occasion.
The programme also witnessed cultural extravaganza by Chang, Khiamniungan, Sangtam and Yimchunger dancing troupes.
Zunheboto: Zunheboto District celebrated the 71st Republic Day at Zunheboto public ground with Minister of Agriculture and Co-operation G.Kaito Aye unfurling the national flag.
Highlights of the programme included parade by six contingents, tug of peace between GB union and Sumi officers union Zunheboto. The programme culminated by beating of retreat by 32 Assam Rifles Zunheboto.
Mokokchung: Mokokchung celebrated 71st Indian Republic Day at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung with Minister for PHE, Jacob Zhimomi as the chief guest. He unfurled the national flag, delivered the Republic Day speech and inspected the march past contingents.
Cultural programme included traditional dance performance by Oriental Club, Ungma village, Medem Reju Cultural Club, Mongsenyimti and Sema Union, Mokokchung.
The chief guest also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by different departments. Later in the day, an exhibition football match was played between HoDs and All Ward Union, Mokokchung followed by beating of retreat.
Longleng: In Longleng the 2020 Republic Day was celebrated with Neiba Kronu, Minister for Planning as special at local public ground, Longleng. He unfurled the National Flag and took the salute from six parade contingents.
The special guest also inaugurated the exhibition & sale stalls of the Agri and Allied department & SHGs.
Peren: In Peren, the 71st Republic Day was celebrated at Deputy Commissioner’s Office, New Peren with Advisor for Department of Under Developed Areas (DUDA), N. BongkhaoKonyak as the special guest. He unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade contingents, delivered the Republic Day speech and took salute from the seven parade contingents.
Earlier, national flag was hoisted in all Govt. Offices/institutions and private buildings.
Later, the special guest formally inaugurated and inspected the exhibition stalls.
Wokha: The 71st Republic Day was celebrated at Wokha local ground with Minister for Transport, Civil Aviation & Railways, Land Resources, P. PaiwangKonyak at the chief guest.
Eight parade contingents including pipe band from 40 AR took part in the march pass.
Mon: Minister of Health & Family Welfare, S.Pangnyu Phom unfurled the National flag during the Republic Day 2020 celebration held at local ground Mon. He received the Rasthriya salute from the parade contingents and read out the Republic Day speech.
In the evening session, DC Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS and SP Mon, Imnalensa, IPS was the chief guest. The programme ended with display of band followed by beating of retreat ceremony by 6th NAP Pipe Band.
Phek: The 71st Republic day was celebrated at Phek local ground with Minister for Housing & Mechanical, Tongpang Ozukum as the chief guest. He unfurled the National Flag and took Rashtriya Salute where he also inspected the 11 parade contingents.
The chief guest also inaugurated 18 exhibitions stalls put up by various departments and SHGs. Nation Anthem was presented by Kiddies corner school Phek.
In the evening programme exhibition T20 cricket match was played between DCs Eleven and Tribal’s Club, Phek Town.
Kiphire: Along with the rest of the country, the 71st Republic Day was celebrated at public ground Kiphire with Minister for Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining, V Kashiho Sangtam as the host.
Earlier national flag was hoisted in all government offices and educational institutions.
Later the chief guest also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by the respective departments and SHG under Kiphire.
The evening football exhibition match was played between united Vikings FC and Nehru Yuka Kendra.
Noklak: The 71st Republic Day celebration at Noklak was held at public ground, Noklak with Advisor for Prisons, Printing & Stationary, H Haiying as special guest. He unfurled the National Flag and took salute from the parade contingents.
The special guest also inspected the stalls.
Shamator: Advisor, IPR, SCERT & VG, Toshi Wungtung as the chief guest unfurled the tricolour during the Republic Day programme and read out the Republic Day speech.
The special guest also inaugurated exhibition stalls and took part in Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) signature campaign.
Tseminyu: Tseminyu sub-division celebrated the 71th Republic Day at RSA ground Tseminyu Town with Advisor for Power, Tovihoto Ayemi as special guest. The special guest unfurled the National Flag and took Rashtriya Salute from four contingents.
The special guest also inaugurated the exhibition stalls put by Agri and Allied departments and Medical department on the occasion.
Aghunato: The 71st Republic Day was observed in Aghunato with EAC VitokaYeptho as the special guest at the ADC office complex.
Earlier the special guest hoisted the tricolors, and took salute from parade team. National Anthem was presented by DBs under administration department.
Naginimora: Along with the country the 71st R-Day was celebrated at Naginimora at the ADC Office Compound. RenabomoOdyuo, ADC Naginimora unfurled the National Flag and delivered the Republic Day speech and took salute from 6 NAP ‘A’ Company.
Pughoboto: Pughoboto celebrated the 71th Republic Day at the ADC Office compound, Pughoboto. The National Flag was unfurled by the ADC Pughoboto, T Moa Lemtor, took the Rastriya salute and read out the Republic Day speech.
Pfutsero: Along with the rest of the nation Pfutsero celebrated the 71st Republic Day at Pfutsero Town Sports Complex. ADC Pfutsero, Phuleshe K Yepthomi unfurled the national flag, gave the rashtriya salute and read out the Republic Day speech.
Longkhim: Along with the rest of the country Longkhim Town observed 71st Republic Day at ADC Office Longkhim Town with Kikumsangla Jamir, ADC Longkhim as the special guest. She unfurled the National Flag, took salute and delivered the Republic Day speech.
Jalukie: The 71st Republic Day was celebrated at GHSS ground with Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, ADC Jalukie Town as special guest. He unfurled the National Flag and delivered the Republic Day speech.
Tening: Tening celebrated the Republic Day with ADC Tening, RhosiethoNguori, NCS as special guest. He unfurled the national flag.
Medziphema: Republic day was celebrated at local ground, Medziphema with Advisor for Sericulture, Zhaleo Rio as special guest. He unfurled the National flag, and took the Rastriya Salute.
An exhibition football match was also played as part of the occasion.
Tuli: Republic day programme was held in Tuli at Tuli ADC’s office complex. ADC Tuli, Imsongmeren unfurled the tri-colour and took rastriya salute from DEF personal Tuli.
Aboi: 71st Republic day was celebrated at Aboi local ground with Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS as special guest who unfurled the national flag and read out the Republic day speech.
Thonoknyu: On the occasion of 71st Republic day Celebration at Thonoknyu Hq C.Phuniang, SDO Civil Thonoknyu took the salute from DEF Thonoknyu which was followed by reading of the Republic Day message.
Bhandari: The 71st Republic day was celebrated at the Bhandari Sub division with Mhonlumo Kikon, Advisor, Information Technology as special guest at the public local ground. After unfurling the National flag the special guest delivered the Republic day speech and took Rashtriya salute from the parade contingents.
The special guest also inaugurated the stalls put up by the Department of Agriculture.
Tizit: Republic Day was celebrated at Tizit at local football ground with Advisor, Youth Resources & Sports Er. Zale Neikha as the special guest. He unfurled the National Flag which was followed by National Anthem.
Wakching: Along with rest of the country, Wakching sub- division under Mon district observed the Republic Day at SDO (Civil) chamber. Relise Sangtam, SDO (Civil) unfurled the national flag, read out the Republic Day speech and took salute from parade contingents.
Satakha: 71st Republic day was celebrated at Satakha ADC Hq at Satakha public ground with ADC Satakha T.L. Kisumong Tikhir NCS as special guest.
Atoizu: 71st Republic day was celebrated at Atoizu ADC Hq at Atoizu public ground with ADC Atoizu, Arikumba as special guest.
Meluri: The 71st Indian Republic Day was celebrated at Meluri sub- division at the local ground. Advisor Industries & Commerce, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Labour & Employment, Imnatiba graced the function as special guest. He unfurled the national flag and took salute from parade contingents.
Earlier, the chief guest also inaugurated exhibition stalls.
Monyakshu: Republic day was also celebrated at Monyakshu.
Chiephobozou: Chiephobozou headquarter also celebrated Republic Day 2020 at ADC Office premises. ADC Chiephobozou, Vekhoyi Chakhesang unfurled the National Flag, took the Rashtriya salute and read out the Republic Day’s speech.
Chozuba: 71st Republic Day was celebrated at Chozuba Town with Theodore Yanthan, ADC Chozuba as special guest who unfurled the National Flag at ADC office Chozuba.
Chen: Along with the rest of the country, Chen Hq. celebrated 71st Republic Day at Mini SDO (Civil) Complex at Chen Town.
Jakhama: The Republic Day was celebrated at Sub-Division Officer(C) office Jakhama. SDO(C) Jakhama, AlemyapangLongchar unfurled the national flag.
Tobu: The 71st Republic Day celebration was celebrated at Tobu HQ with Mudongoi Chuzho, ADC Tobu as special guest who unfurled the National Flag, delivered the Republic Day speech and took salute from 12 contingents.
Niuland: With the rest of the Nation Niuland celebrated 71st Republic Day with Advisor CAWD, NSDMA Kazheto Kinimi unfurling the National Flag at Niuland Public ground and took salute from the parade contingents.
Seyochung: The 71st Republic Day 2020 was celebrated at ADC Hq office complex Seyochung.
Pungro: At Pungro special guest ADC Pungro, AbhinavShivam IAS hoisted the national flag at public ground Pungro town, followed by the inspection of parade contingents and Republic Day speech by the special guest.
Assam Rifles: Republic Day 2020 was celebrated by HQ IGAR (North) and under command Sector HQs and unit at various locations across Nagaland.
