Rengma Region NNC/FGN observes 75th year of NNC

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 3: The Rengma Region NNC/FGN commemorated the 75th year of the formation of NNC on February 2 at T Zisunyu village, Rengma Region.
Akho Mero, Homaki Kilonser FGN, graced the occasion as chief guest. A short programme in correspondence with the 75 years NNC Foundation Day was held where the ‘Kechaka’ Memorial Monolith stone was unveiled by the chief guest.

He also released a souvenir of the Rengma Regional Council to mark the occasion which was followed by a speech. Mero stressed on the need for a self-reliant Naga society and that the Naga people must free themselves from the shackles of corruption in order to fully realise their aspiration of a sovereign independent nation.
He further added that the younger generation must continue to carry forth the legacy and the aspiration of the Naga people which have been passed down with great sacrifices and selfless contributions which were made by the leaders of the past.
The program also witnessed special songs which were presented by women group of T Zisunyu village and Naga Army Rengma Region. Voluntary speeches were given by presidents of various Rengma organisations such as Rengma Mothers’ Association, Rengma Students’ Union, GBs Association, Chairman Forum and Rengma Selo Zi.
Sinbu Khing, former President of Rengma Regional Council NNC, acknowledged the presence of few distinguished guests and special invitees by giving away tokens of appreciation.
Akho Mero, Homaki Kilonser FGN, was also accompanied by the GOC W/C, Pezangulie, Women President Chakhesang Region, and the Director, Self Reliance Mission. (Page News Service)
