Red Cross, Dimapur District Branch gears up for Covid pandemic

red crossDimapur, April 9: Red Cross Dimapur District Branch is working hand in hand with Dimapur Administration by offering 500 volunteers in a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner held on Thursday at his office. Under the guidance of the District Administration, Red Cross Volunteers are manning Fair Price Shops, ATMs, Grocery Shops, Community Kitchens, Vegetable Markets etc on need basis to maintain Social Distancing in the crowded areas all around Dimapur District.
Red Cross, Dimapur has distributed Red Cross Jerseys, Sanitizers, Hand Gloves, Masks to most of its volunteers to contribute selfless service wherever possible.
It may be noted that the society manages most of its social activities e.g. Medical Camps, Tube Wells, Blood Donation, Relief for the victims of natural calamities, fire etc through membership fees & charities from philanthropists in & around Dimapur town.
Deputy Commissioner is its President while Chief Medical Officer & Commissioner of Police are its Vice-Presidents. Captain (Rtrd) Hekiye Sema is the advisor to the 12 member Managing Committee.
Chandu Agarwal is the Chairman, while Ajay Sethi is the Vice-Chairman. Kamla Kant Paul is the Honorary Secretary, while Bhagchand Sethi is the Treasurer. Ahidur Rehman, Ajit Sethi, Ashok Agarwal, Helena Yepthomi, Inaka Assumi, Kuldeep Jain, Narola Verma, Vichutolie Mere are its Managing Committee (MC) members.
Society has more than 100 patrons, 1000 Life Members & thousands of Youth Red Cross members in Dimapur. Interested individuals, organisations, institutions can reach out to MC members for membership or donations or any other works. Any volunteer in the age group of 20 to 50 years can reach out on Ph.
