‘No VDB grant-in-aid released to Dimapur District’
DIMAPUR, JANUARY 9: After the Peren District VDB Association (PDVDBA), two NPF MLAs from Dimapur have accused State Rural Department officials of giving “false and misleading” statement that grant-in-aid for 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2017-18 have been released to Dimapur District along with Peren and Mon before Christmas.
Dimapur-III MLA, Azheto Zhimomi and Dimapur-II MLA, Moatoshi Longkumer said as far as Dimapur District is concerned, Dimapur DRDA has not received grant-in-aid for 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2017-18, which, they said, has been confirmed by Project Director, DRDA and Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur who is also the chairman of the District VDB.
Stating that grant in aid (2016-2017) for the 6 Blocks of Dimapur District namely Aghunakha Block, Chumukedima Block, Dhansiripar Block, Kuhuboto Block, Medziphema Block and Niuland Block was released by the previous DAN Government within the State own resources, the two legislators said, “However, the claims of RD Assistant Director, Hisinle Kent and RD Director, Imlimeren Jamir that GIA Fund for 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2017-18 have been released to Dimapur District along with Peren and Mon before Christmas is false and misleading.”
The Peren District VDB Association had on Tuesday stated that Peren District has not received any fund under grand-in-aid till date. Apart from the grant-in-aid, the association said the district has not received any amount against MGNREGA 2018-19.
“Instead of throwing light on how the sanctioned Grant-in-Aid of Rs 96 Crores would be implemented in the 74 RD Blocks of the State as per guidelines, the two officers from the Directorate of Rural Development cited ‘lack of documents’ and shifted the blame to the VDBs accusing it ‘of not submitting proposals.’
It also went on to label the standpoint of the Leader of Opposition, T.R Zeliang as ‘wild and false’ and what he stated was ‘only his imagination and holds no truth.’ As responsible officers of the State, such unsubstantiated claims and accusations must be avoided at all cost,” the two MLAs said in a press release.
Mon did not receive VDB grant-in-aid: MDVDBA
The Mon District VDB Association (MDVDBA) has also stated that Mon District has not received any fund under grant-in-aid for 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2017-18 till date.
In a statement, MDVDBA president Pangloi Konyak and secretary Luwang Konyak said the claims of some officers from the Directorate of Rural Development that grant-in-aid fund for the above 3 years have been released to some blocks of Mon District “is totally fabricated.” (Page News Service)
