RCD constructs hand washing station at GMS Sematila

Dimapur, September 30: Rotary Club of Dimapur and Rotaract Club of Dimapur jointly constructed Hand washing station and installed filtered drinking water, and dedicated to Govt. Middle School, Sematila, Dimapur on September 29 under Rotary India Wash in school (WinS) program.
Rotaract President Akash Jain conducted the program and informed about the details of construction work .The program was started with invocation by Tohuli and Vihoshe, GB Sematilla welcomed all and appreciated the work and service rendered by Rotary and Rotaract Club of Dimapur for the school.
Rotary Club Literacy Chairman Rtn Sanjay Jain, in his speech highlighted about the importance of hand washing and filtered drinking water. He added that clean water, better sanitation, teacher training and hygiene education in school can improve the health and education of children by creating a cycle of opportunity – improved education, increased school attendance and improved academic performance.
Rotary president, Rtn Dr. Nitin Agarwal told that hand washing with soap is the single most intervention in preventing number of diseases like diarrhea, RTI etc. He also highlighted about rotary activities and efforts in making india literate.
In his vote of thanks Rotaract Vice president thanked all and highlighted about rotatact activities for the community. From school side vote of thanks was delivered by school Incharge, Inakhu Chishi who again expressed gratitude to Rotary and Rotaract club of Dimapur for installation of Drinking water and hand washing station.
