
Dimapur, November 1: Along with the rest of the country, Noklak District observed the Rashtriya Ekta Divas on October 31 to mark the birth anniversary of Sadar Vallabhai Patel.
During the occasion, a unity run was organized where more than a hundred students from GHSS, Noklak participated by running from the welcome gate to the Public ground, Noklak town.
Meanwhile, to mark the day, Oath taking ceremony was held in all the Government Offices.
Hiazu Meru, Deputy Commissioner, Noklak delivered his speech and word of encouragement to the gathering before administering the pledge on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas
PHQ Kohima:
Nagaland Police organized a short programme on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) at Conference Hall PHQ along with the rest of the country. The programme was chaired by Uniel Kichu, IPS, SP (Cyber Security).
T John Longkumer, IPS, DGP Nagaland in his speech stated that Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day was introduced by the Government of India to instill unity among the citizens of India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31, who is referred as the Iron man of India and the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India.
It is in recognition of his historical contribution, the architect of National integration, and the combined aspiration of the people of India to forge the dreams of a vibrant, prosperous, and progressive nation that 31st October is observed as National Unity day, he stated.
He further informed that the Government of India has declared the period falling between October 21 to 31 as “Police Flag Day” celebration.
The commemorative period began with the observance of the Police Commemoration Day on October 31 and culminated on November 1 with the observance of the National Unity day.
The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge was read by all present to reinvigorate the National Unity of India.
