Dimapur, January 21: Nagaland trail Bihar by 278 runs after bad light stopped play on the penultimate day of the Ranji Trophy 2019-2020 tie here at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima on Tuesday.
After declaring their first innings at 509/7, Bihar picked two crucial wickets to leave the host reeling at 65/2 at the end of the day’s play due to bad light.
Earlier the visitor’s first inning total of 509/7 declared was laced with two centuries – Rahmat Ullah (106) and Vikash (103), while Babul missed his century by 5 runs. Rathour also scored 81 and Ashutosh contributed 51. SS Mundhe of Nagaland was the most successful bowler taking 3 Bihar wickets.
In contrast Nagaland were earlier bowled out for 166 on Day-1 in its first inning.
Col C K Nayudu Trophy
In the Col C K Nayudu Trophy (2019-20) being played at Kandukuri Cricket Academy, Vizag, Nagaland bowled out Mizoram for 155 in 73 overs on Day-1 of the 4-day match.
Electing to bat first, Mizoram players failed to read Nagaland bowler, A Yadav who took 7 wickets to restrict Mizoram to 155.
Coming out to bat, Nagaland were 50/3 at the end of the day’s play, still trailing Mizoram by 105 runs. (Page News Service)
