Dimapur, February 6: Goa beat Nagaland by 229 runs in their Ranji Trophy 2019-20 match with a day to spare at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima on Thursday.
After bowling out Nagaland for 176 early in the morning, Goa declared their second innings at 221/4 after batting 41 overs, and than came out to bowled the host out for 134 in 36.4 overs to register the huge win.
In the second innings, Stuart Bunny top scored for Nagaland with 58, while Vijesh was the most successful Goa bowler taking 3 wickets.
Col C K Nayudu Trophy
In the Col C K Nayudu Trophy (2019-20) at Golaghat DSA Ground, Golaghat, Meghalaya were trailing Nagaland by 123 runs with 10 wickets in hand when bad light stopped play on Day-1.
Electing to bat first, Nagaland were bowled out cheaply for 192 in 57 overs, with Nikhil top scoring with 59 and Vivek contributing 53.
For Meghalaya, Anish took 4 wickets.
Coming out to bat, Meghalaya were in a strong position at 69/1 in 20 overs when stumps were drawn due to bad light.
State eves loses to Chandigarh
In the women’s Under-23 1-day trophy played at KIIT Cricket Stadium, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh beat Nagaland by 74 runs in a lopsided match.
Choosing to bat first, Chandigarh were bowled out for 134 with Amanjot Kaur top scoring with 27. Nagaland’s Ananya took 4 wickets.
Chasing the relatively low score, Nagaland were bowled out for just 60 runs in 22 overs. Kashvee of Chandigarh was the chief wrecker taking 5 Nagaland wickets. (Page News Service)
