Ranji Trophy: Arunachal trail Nagaland by 393 runs

Dimapur, January 12: Nagaland declared their first inning at 534/7 against Arunachal Pradesh and then reduced the visitor to 141/4 at stumps on Day-2 of the Ranji Trophy (2019-20) match at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima on Sunday. Arunachal trails Nagaland by 393 runs.
Continuing from their overnight score of 356/5, Nagaland batters continue to dominate with both overnight batsmen going on to make big scores. Takawale became the second centurion of the inning for the host with a quick fire knock of 117, while Sedezhalie made 53. On Day-1, SS Mundhe had made 166, Hokaito – 76 and Jonathan – 49.
For Arunachal, Techi Neri took 3 wickets.
Coming out to bat, the Arunachal inning was in tatters at 141/4 in 37 overs, with first inning centurion for the host, SS Mundhe being the pick of the bowler taking 3 of the 4 Arunachal wickets to fall today.
For Arunachal, Rahul scored 64 and Doria made 27.
Cooch Behar Trophy
In the Cooch Behar Trophy (2019-20), Meghalaya hand a humiliating 9 wickets defeat to Nagaland on Day-2 of the 4-days match at the Assam Valley School ground, Tezpur.
In the second inning, Nagaland were bowled out for a meagre 48 runs in 21.1, setting a target of 21 for Meghalaya to win the match.
Nagaland was earlier bowled out for 171 in the first inning, while Meghalaya made 198 in its first essay.
In the second inning, Shamphri was the only Nagaland batsman to reach double digit (19 runs) and the next top scorer was Afzal with 8. For Meghalaya Aaron took 6 wickets and Aryan claimed 4.
With 21 runs needed for an outright win, Meghalaya completed the formalities in 3.1 overs losing one wicket to hand Nagaland a 9 wickets defeat.
