Random sampling, vaccination held in Longkhim

Dimapur, June 12: Sensitization on COVID-19 vaccination, sample collection and vaccination for 18 to 44 years age group were conducted at Lirise and Chungtor villages in Longkhim on June 10.

A press release received here informed that the team was led by MO CHC Longkhim Dr. Tokughu, accompanied by BPM, BAC, FWA, two GNMs, lab technician and medical attendant of CHC Longkhim.
Dr. Tokughu talked about the importance of COVID-19 vaccines. He also highlighted the Covishield vaccine available in Nagaland, developed by the Serum Institute of India (SII), and its efficacy.
He said that total vaccination may lead to partial/total lifting of COVID-related restrictions. So, he encouraged the participants to get vaccinated and not to believe in rumours about the vaccine.
During the meeting, VCC of Lirise, R Thronglongse said that all the villagers should get vaccinated so that the lockdown will be lifted at the earliest.

The team also conducted random sample collection for COVID-19 testing and around 20 samples were collected.
The beneficiaries from Lirise and Chugtor villages also received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination. Altogether, 48 persons were vaccinated on that day.
The programme was attended by Church leaders, Student leaders, village council chairman, village health chairman and staff of CHC, Longkhim. (Page News Service)
