Dimapur, September 13: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated the Paghla Bridge at Aboi in Mon District on September 12.
According to a DIPR bulletin on Wednesday, Rajya Sabha MP Phangnon Konyak also witnessed the inauguration.
Phangnon, in her speech, stated that the inauguration highlighted the translation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of future connectivity. She added that NE Sates of India have witnessed tremendous development.
The inauguration and dedication of Paghla Bridge was organised by the 100 Road Construction Company (GREF).
The Paghla Bridge was constructed by Border Roads Organisation (BRO). The inauguration and dedication of Paghla Bridge was a part of the 90 BRO infrastructure projects which were constructed in 10 border States and UTs of India at the cost of Rs 2,941 crore.
The Tuensang-Mon road crosses the Paghla River, which becomes non-fordable during rainy season causing inconvenience to road users and also snapping logistic movement in defence support, it stated.
