Raj Bhavan used ‘UG’, we used ‘NPO’, clarifies Govt

Dimapur, July 24: The Government of Nagaland has clarified that the term ‘underground organizations” used in the July 7 Office Memorandum was “as conveyed by the Raj Bhavan.” It pointed out that the State Government had used the term “Naga political organizations” in its press release dated July 22.
The Government also reiterated that the OM relating to furnishing of self declaration form by State Government employees’ with respect to family members and relatives in underground organization was issued on the direction of the Governor.
“As stated in the State Government’s Clarification dated 22nd July, 2020, the letter of this direction was sent to the Chief Secretary from the Commissioner & Secretary to Governor on 14th February, 2020 asking for the information to be furnished by 2nd April, 2020. A reminder letter was received from the Governor’s office on 24th June, 2020 requesting to furnish the information urgently for the perusal of the Governor,” said a Government release issued through the DIPR.
