Pulie Badze declared Plastic Free Zone


Dimapur, June 6: On the occasion of World Environment Day, and with an aim to protect one of the most important watershed areas of Kohima district, Pulie Badze was declared “Plastic Free Zone” with the initiative from Department of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Kohima Forest Division in collaboration with Jotsoma Nature Conservation & Ecotourism Committee and village functionaries of Jotsoma village on June 5.
Coinciding with the World Environment Day, the program for declaration of “Plastic Free Zone” was held at the Pulie Badze Peak.
During the program, Rongsenlemla Imchen IFS, DFO Kohima appreciated the efforts of the community in collaborating with the department with regard to forests & environmental conservation.
She highlighted on the need for declaring Pulie Badze as Plastic Free and the importance of corroborative efforts of all sections of the society in the community to check plastic pollution along with other environmental issues in letter and spirit.
