Public speaking c’ship held at C-Edge College


Dimapur, August 28: The literary committee of C-Edge College, Dimapur organised the first public speaking championship with the aim to help students enhance their overall personality development. The finale was held on August 27.
In the introductory remarks, Wapanginla Ao, HoD of Management Studies mentioned that the road to the finale has been a gradual process of orientation on public speaking, audition and preliminary round where the contestants were mentored and moulded every step to become effective public speaker. She remarked that all the finalists were already winner because they have all become effective speakers.
There were five finalists who competed for the championship. Anguka N. Achumi of BA I semester who spoke on the topic ‘the power of words’ was declared the winner of the first public speaking championship. The runners up was won by S. Sorito Yimchunger of BA V semester whose topic was ‘Create yourself’. The other three finalists were Imnatemjen Longkumer of BBA III who spoke on the topic ‘Achieving success’. Esther Sonar of BBA I whose topic was ‘Unconditional love’ and Imchakumla Longkumer of BBA III who spoke on the topic ‘Richness of life’.
The contestants were judged on speech content, body language and voice clarity/modulation. The judges were Dr. Chubatola Aier, principal of the college, Daisy Shitio, academic dean and Imsuakum Longkumer, HoD of Economics Department. (Page News Service)
