Public hearing under MGNREGA held for Wokha Dist


Dimapur, April 13: Social audit public hearing for 8 villages (Humtso, Longsa, Ralan Old, Bhandari, Mekokla, Chanka, Liphayan & Merapani) under four blocks was conducted on April 10 at VDB Multipurpose Hall, Wokha.
The programme was chaired by BDO, Bhandari, Thunjamo Lotha and the introduction was delivered by State Resource Person (SAU), Imlirenla Sanglir. Sanglir highlighted the activities of Social Audit Unit (SAU) that were being carried out during the financial year 2017-18 wherein the SAU has audited 129 villages in the entire district of Nagaland. She pointed out that SAU will be targeting at least 70 villages per district, an overall total of 770 villages in the State, which will be audited as per the current Annual Action Plan (Financial Year 2018-2019).
To achieve the target, capacity building measures and awareness generation will be carried out extensively for the implementing agencies as well as primary stakeholders. She further reiterated on the importance of proper book-keeping and following the guidelines for effective implementation of the programme.
Presentation on social audit finding were given by Sara Khesoh, Abenla and Benchumo Shitiri (District Resource Person, SAU and Village Resource Person, SAU respectively. Issue related Job Cards updating and refinement of job cards. Muster roll related issues, maintenance of detailed Transparency Board, worksite facilities, mismatched sanctioned amount were highlighted by the resource persons. Rectification were made by the concerned RD Block Officers on various issues and resolved to take corrective measures for transparency and effective implementation of the programme.
