Dimapur, October 31: The Working Coordination Committee on Zeliangrong Land Issues (WCCZLI) has decided to temporarily suspend the proposed bandh till further notice, following the state Cabinet’s decision to set up a Committee to further examine the matter regarding the recognition given to Khehoi village.
The state Cabinet on Monday kept the recognition of Khehoi village in abeyance.
The WCCZLI said their demand is for revocation of Recognition Order of Khehoi village and not merely to keep the matter in “abeyance”. It said the committee cannot accept any decision of the Government other than revocation of the order.
Though the WCCZLI has suspended the proposed bandh from November 1, it said their agitation in any form would continue if the Government fails to comply with their genuine demand for revocation of the said order. (Page News Service)
