Principal Secretary informs stranded Nagaland citizens

Dimapur, May 9: Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha today informed that Nagaland citizen, stranded in different parts of the country desiring to come back to Nagaland either on their own arrangements by road through e-Pass or by arrangements to be made by the state Government have started applying through the returnees’ declaration form in the website imstranded.nagaland.gov.in.
So far a total of 93 people have applied for e-Passes and 12839 have requested Government arrangements for transportation.
Sinha further informed that inter-district movement of stranded persons to their districts has continued for the third day today. Till now 2000 people have travelled back to their respective districts from various locations of the state.
As regard the financial assistance to stranded persons of Nagaland in other States, due to the lockdown where, till date a total of 18,156 applicants comprising of 13,782 working people, 4,203 students and 171 patients have been provided assistance by transferring the amounts to their bank accounts. A total of Rs. 7.12crores has been disbursed for this purpose.
Sinha further informed that a total of 848 suspected samples have been sent for testing from the state as of 4 p.m. of May 9. The results of 786 samples have been received and all have been tested negative. The results of remaining 62 samples are awaited. (Page News Service)
