Poshan Maah celebration launched at Kohima & Peren

Dimapur, September 1: Kohima district launched the month-long celebration of Poshan Maah under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Shanavas C at DC’s conference hall on September 1.
Launching the programme, DC Kohima said that every year, from September 1 to 30, Poshan Maah is celebrated with various action plans from the concerned departments. He hoped that all the departments will take part in the convergence activities for the successful implementation of the programme.
Kohima District Coordinator of Poshan Abhiyaan, Sohile Tep said that Poshan Maah was launched on March 8, 2018 with an aim to improve the nutritional outcomes for women and children by leveraging technology, targeted approach and convergence.
She said the month-long celebration will consist of various activities under different themes for every week in all the five blocks, including Tseminyu, with an aim to build public participation through various activities, and convert nutrition awareness into a mass movement.
During the launching programme, the participants took the Poshan Pledge and also discussed on the District Poshan Maah Action Plan prepared by the concerned departments for further necessary action.
Peren:
Peren ICDS Project under the Department of Social Welfare organised the district level launching programme of Poshan Maah 2022 at Women Welfare Hall, Jalukie Town on September 1.
During the programme, AWW Samziuram, Amanna administered the Poshan Pledge, while CDPO, Nsong, Dishong Chawang highlighted the aims and objectives of Poshan Maah and the importance of mass participation. CDPO, Tening, Yanbeni Humtsoe also spoke on the importance and awareness of nutrition of all age groups, especially children below six (6) years, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers.
The programme was chaired by District Poshan Coordinator, Kulule, and vote of thanks was proposed by District Block Coordinator, Kekuhungbo.
Jalukie ICDS Project also organised the block level launching programme at CDPO’s Office, Jalukie town. (Page News Service)
