Dimapur, September 25: As part of Rashtriya Poshan Maah, an awareness camp for adolescent girls was held at Mayangnokcha Govt. Higher secondary School, Mokokchung on September 23, organized by Ongpangkong (North) ICDS project in convergence with Department of Health & Family Welfare.
Talisangla Nokdir, CDPO Ongpangkong (N) said RPM is a programme under Poshan Abhiyaaan with an objective to provide holistic nourishment to citizens. She mentioned that it is a community based programme, where stakeholder converge to work for a healthy community.
Dr Moamongla, Ayush Department, IMDH while interacting with girls informed about the problem of anemia and its treatment.
Dr Salong and his team from Urban Primary Health Centre, Yimyu, sensitized about symptoms, treatment and preventives measures regarding anemia and diarrhea. The team also provided information on adolescent girl health issues. Seven steps of washing hands for hygienic life style was also demonstrated by the team.
Tamlu: Under Rashtriya Poshan Maah, a Panchayat meeting under Tamlu block was held at Kangching and Netnyü village on September 18 at the respective village council hall. The meeting was chaired by Mary AC NRLM Tamlu while introductory address on Poshan Maah was given by Konyau AC NRLM Tamlu.
Talk on health issues about adolescent girls was given by Enyu Phom, ANM. Baulen, AWW spoke on nutritional food locally available and discouraged giving junk food to the children. (Page News Service)
