Poshan Maah 2021 launched at Longleng, Peren

Dimapur, September 3: Social Welfare Department, Longleng organized the launching programme of Rashtriya Poshan Maah, on the theme “Converging Towards a Healthy Walk Through Life” on September 3 at EBRC hall, Longleng with ADC Longleng, D. Robin, NCS, as the special guest.


Welcoming the gathering CDPO Langleng, Longlang Luckpan briefed on Poshan Maah and urged all the convergence departments for their cooperation and support so as to make Poshan Maah a success and beneficial to the rural masses in the district during the month-long celebration.
D. Robin in his speech emphasized on the importance proper nutrition for women and children. He also said women should know which types of food to consume during the time of pregnancy and to feed the child after birth. He further added that living a healthy life is very important and everyone should be really careful on what to consume. Encouraging the Department and AWWs, he urged them to carry out their duties responsibly, with dignity and hard work.
Junior Specialist, DH Longleng, Dr. Waulong briefed on importance of nutrition for health life and preventative measure from grassroots level.
The programme was chaired by District Coordinator Poshan Maah Longhong while vote of thanks was delivered by Longhong.
Kejanglwa village: ADC Jalukie, K. Mhathung Tsanglao, NCS graced the launching programme of Poshan Maah 2021 held at Kejanglwa Village, Peren on September 2 in the presence of Block CDPOs, DPRO Peren, AWWs, Village Councils, officials from District Mission Management Unit, Block Mission Management Unit, NSRLM, RD Block Jalukie and Peren. The programme was organised by Peren ICDS Project under the Department of Social Welfare.
Addressing the gathering, K. Mhathung Tsanglao stressed on the greater benefits of planting more plants which have medicinal and nutritional values. He encouraged the gathering for optimum utilisation of available land nearby homes and start practicing organic kitchen garden in order to enhance the nutritional level in our diet.
The ADC requested the CDPOs and staff from different blocks to work with full commitment for the successful implementation of the month-long celebration programme.
Later, ADC Peren, K. Mhathung Tsanglao, NCS declared the launch by planting a neem tree at Kejanglwa Village AWC followed with ADC Jalukie, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS and Dy. CMO Peren, Dr. Lanuakum Jamir.
The programme was chaired by District Poshan Coordinator Asst. Peren, Kukule while short note of Poshan Maah was delivered by DPO Peren, Asangla Jamir.


Jalukie: ICDS Project under the Department of Social Welfare, Peren organised the launching programme of Poshan Maah 2021 on the theme ‘Converging towards a healthy walk through life’ on September 1 at Women Welfare Conference Hall, Jalukie Town.
CDPO Jalukie, Namhuheing spoke on the major activities to be conducted during Poshan Maah. He emphasized on the importance to prevent and reduce under-nutrition and stunting of children and women, anaemia and low birth rate; and informed a proper diet can ensure that the body is in proper state.
Further, he encouraged the AWWs and AWHs to play an active role for implementing the activities which will help in sensitizing the masses towards adoption of nutritional behaviour. (Page News Service)
