Poshan Maah 2020 celebration culminates

Dimapur, September 30: The culmination programme for the month-long celebration of Rashtriya Poshan Maah, 2020 for Peren District was held on September 30 in the DC’s conference hall, Peren. The programme was organized by the Department of Social Welfare, Peren District under the theme “Identification of SAM/MAM children, Development of Kitchen garden in AWC”.
Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS in his short speech lauded all the line departments involved actively in educating and sensitizing the public as well as for the successful completion of month long Poshan Maah activities in the District. He handed over certificate of appreciation to different individuals from different anganwadi centres of Peren District for their active participation during the month long activities conducted.
The recipient included Igwetzeule-AWC (E), Jalukie Town; Lungramyile-AWC; Benreu Village; Idosi-AWC Beisamlwa; Nkamlakge-AWC (A), Tening Village; Comely-AWC (D), Nzauna; Poshan Coordination Peren, Dunwibo and Poshan Coordination Jalukie, Pauram Zeliang.
Tuensang: National Nutrition Mission Poshan Maah 2020 closing ceremony held at CKS Hall Tuensang on September 30. Kumar Ramnikant IAS DC Tuensang was the special guest of the programme.
The DC congratulated the Social Welfare Department and all the convergence departments for their effort in making the performance rank at top amongst the district of the state. National Nutrition Mission is of the most important national project and putting the same effort can achieve a lot in child and women health of the district, he said. Poshan Maah week exercise have been a commendable one and if the same team effort can be put for the entire year then we can eradicate the major health nutrition factors of our society, he added.
PH Ramaikalo, SBP Tuensang highlighted the entire exercise of the Poshan Maah month and also mentioned all the efforts of the team work of the convergence departments.
The DC also gave away the prizes of the Poshan Maah online competitions. In Photography Adekhing Mongzar (first position), Sujemla(second) and Chimengkaiba Chang(third) were the winners respectively. For Painting L Mukom (first), Imtiyangla and Chongshen Kejong at second and third resapectively. For Slogan L Themsao (first position), Khumtila Sangtam at second and Maniu at third position.
Mokokchung: Under the initiatives of the Department of Social Welfare the closing programme of Poshan Maah 2020 was held on September 30 at Penli Panchayat Hall, Mokokchung.
As part of the programme a painting competition on the theme “Identification of SAM/MAM” and “Development of Kitchen Garden in AWC” was held, where students from different schools participated. EAC Mokokchung, Sentilong Ozukum, officials from Social Welfare Department and winners of the painting competition is seen in the picture.
Dimapur: A programme on Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission) organized by Nehru Yava Kendra, Dimapur in collaboration with DPRO and NSS, was held at Youth Hostel Dimapur on September 30.
During the programme, founder and director, Wings Training Solution, Dip lauded the organizer for their effort towards educating the society on importance of nutrition. He highlighted various schemes initiated by the government and called for creating awareness.
Debasis, highlighted the objectives of Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan and also stressed on importance of nutrition for all round development of a person.
Lazami: Ghathashi ICDS celebrated Poshan Maah under the supervision of the Social and Welfare department on convergence with the Medical department under Pughoboto sub-division from 1st September 2020 and concluded on September 30 at Lazami village.
CDPO Chiro in his keynote address spoke on the importance of the Poshan.Block co-ordinator, Vikito stressed on the importance of organic foods. Dr Alivis also spoke on the program on the importance of organic foods and how to care the malnutrition children. The medical department gave free medicine to pregnant women and nursing mothers. The program was chaired by Supervisor Mghatovi.
Bhandari: As part of Poshan Maah celebration 2020, ICDS Bhandari held a block level culmination cum cooking competition programme with the theme, “Better nutrition, better health” on September 29 at town hall, Bhandari.
SDO Civil, Bhandari, Sulanthung (NCS) highlighted on the importance of organic food and nutritious balanced diet for healthy pregnant and nursing mothers, adolescent girls and children below six years stating that a healthy family makes a healthy society and a healthy nation.
Nutritious food cooking competition was held whereby Bhandari Town Eloe Hoho was declared the winner and Anganwadi workers team and Banana Self Help Group were declared the runners up.
Longkhim: The month long celebration of Rashtriya Poshan Maah culmination programme cum Poshan Maah was held at MARCOFED marketing shed Longkhim town with Additional Deputy Commissioner Longkhim, Kikumsungla Jamir as Special Guest today.
While inaugurating the closing ceremony, the Special Guest in her speech acknowledged the department for organizing such programme. She said that through this month-long programme people of target group like 0-6 years, lactating mothers and pregnant women had benefited a lot by organizing various programme.
CDPO Longkhim, C Tsalito Sangtam during a culmination programme highlighted on the month long celebration of Poshan Maah and its benefits for the people during the programme. He said that during the month long programme in Longkhim, an intensive home visits were conducted by Anganwadi workers and helpers, conducted Community Base Events and other activities, where Health workers conducted Anemia camp for Adolescents girls.
The programme also focused on young mothers meeting for their health, proper intake of nutrition, and also locals leaders and students leaders were conducted, CDPO stated.
