Dimapur, February 5: Nagaland recorded 100% coverage in the latest round of Polio National Immunization Day that began on January 31, 2021.
State Immunization Officer (UIP), Dr Ritu Thurr said the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization concluded successfully in all districts with 100% coverage of all estimated children between 0-5 years.
Dr Thurr informed that the booth day on January 31 was followed by intensified house to house immunization of left our children. Altogether 1,53,741 children were immunized in the State with the oral polio vaccine, he said.
Dr Thurr said pulse polio rounds are critical to sustain eradication status of Poliomyelitis and to avoid resurgence.
