Dimapur, March 9: Along with the rest of India, Nagaland will conduct the 1st round of polio National Immunization Day (NID) 2019 on March 10.
The State Department of Health & Family Welfare said it is all geared up to administer polio drops to over 1.5 lakhs eligible children from 0-5 years throughout the State in 2274 polio booths to be manned by 9096 health personnel and 445 supervisors along with vaccines and other logistics. Special focus will be given to migrant population with an aim to prevent importation of polio cases.
The department appealed to all sections of the people, agencies (Gov t and non Govt, including security forces and police), organizations, churches and community leaders and especially parents of children below 5 years to come forward and ensure that all eligible children receive the “two drops of life” (polio drops) on March 10.
