Police Assistance Centre inaugurated at Darogapathar

Dimapur, July 26: Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Limasunep Jamir, IPS today inaugurated a Police Assistance Centre at Darogapathar NRL Perol Pump, which will serve the people of Darogapathar as well as the surrounding villages.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner of Police lauded the Darogapathar Village Council for providing the building free of cost to set up the Police Assistance Centre.
He said it was not a police outpost or a police station but only an assistance booth. However, he said, “We are leaving a footprint…it is a matter of time it becomes a police station.”
He said policing system today not like those of 30 years back as today police officers are service oriented and are adept in crime detection and prevention. He hoped that the officers posted in the Assistance Centre would be dutiful.
Stating that safety and security of the citizens is a concern for all, Limasunep called upon everyone to work collectively and not to take law into their hands.
Chairman of Darogapathar Village Council, Nungtok Jamir expressed that the Centre will not only help Darogapathar village but also the surrounding villages. He also assured that the Council would extend its fullest cooperation to the police department.
He also assured to located a permanent site for the police centre. (Page News Service)
