Police assault on doctor amicably settled; don’t revive it, says DC Wokha

Dimapur, April 22: DC Wokha, Orenthung Lotha has appealed to all not to “revive” the issue of the assault on a dental doctor in Wokha on April 17 by police personnel as the issue has been amicably settled.
In a press release, the DC clarified that on the day of the incident, police team led by SP Wokha, SDPO Wokha, OC Wokha Police Station, the doctor and his family members and some members of the Wokha Medical fraternity, in presence of ADC Wokha & SDO (C) Wokha amicably settled the matter after mutual understanding b y all the parties concerned.
“It was also decided that the matter would not be pursued further by any of the parties concerned. Hence, it is appealed to all not to revive the issue which has been amicably settled,” he said.
The DC informed that since the beginning, all frontline workers including the police and medical fraternity with support from the public have been fighting the COVID-19 pandemic “with every ounce of our soul and spirit and we will continue to work with all the stakeholders as partners with a relentless commitment to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Wokha District.” (Page News Service)
