PMS: ANCSU issues Mar 26 deadline

Dimapur, March 21: The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has issued ultimatum to the Government of Nagaland to credit the scholarship amount in the respective bank accounts of the 11,335 deprived beneficiaries by March 26, failing which it will abstain from attending regular classes and shall not allow any college to function.
In an ultimatum issued today, the ANCSU lamented that it had sought appointment on several occasions with the Chief Minister and the concerned Minister to discuss on the issue, but no appointment was granted till date. ANCSU said it has lost patience and shall no longer cooperate any further with the State Government.
ANCSU said it had reminded the Chief Minister for his immediate intervention in regard to the remaining amount (Rs 7.71 crore) for which 11335 deserving ST students’ from 69 institutions are yet to receive their due share. It also reminded of its demand dated 12/12/2017 to make alternative arrangement for payment of PMS, and the State Government’s assurance to the student community that positive steps shall be taken to make sure that payment of PMS for the year 2016-17 will be done before December 25, 2017. However, it said the State Government has miserably failed to deliver justice to the students’ community.
The ANCSU warned that it shall not be held responsible if any untoward situation arises out of its intervention after March 26. (Page News Service)
