PM digitally inaugurates Wokching New Model college building

Dimapur, February 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new administrative and academic blocks of Wakching New Model College, Mon via remote digitally from Sher-i-Kashmir International conference centre, Srinagar on February 3.
The digital launching programme was held in the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, Mon in the presence of Minister Higher Education & Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along and MLA, YM Yollow Konyak.
Speaking at the programme, Imna Along thanked the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India for launching the new Model College at Wakching under Mon District. He stated that Rastriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) is the best development team.
“Today at this digital launching programme, our PM spoke all over the country and traveled digitally to 70 model colleges. We witnessed a visionary leader speaking, that is New India,” Imna Along said.
With this New India, “the new Nagas should be recognized by hard work, sincerity, global attitude with traditional values,” he added.
YM Yollow, who also spoke on the occasion, encouraged the educated Konyak youths to work for the upliftment of the community rather than striving for power.
Others present included Higher Education & Technical Education secretary, Dinesh Kumar; Higher Education Director, Dr I Anungla Aier, Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) State Project Director, Menuokuolie Kire, NDPP president and PDA chairman, Chingwang Konyak; Nagaland State Commission for Protection of Child Rights chairperson, Awan; OSD to Chief Minister, Mankhao; host of Government officials and others.
