Phesama YO and Elite Club retains 6th Kohima District Open Volleyball Tournament

Kohima, November 24: Defending champions Phesama Youth Organisation (men) and Elite Club Kohima (women) remained unbeaten to retain the 6th Kohima District Open Volleyball Tournament (men & women) organized by Kohima District Volleyball Association (KDVA) at Local ground here.
Playing the final match of the tournament in men’s category, defending champs Phesama YO comfortably defeated Kirpuphema Youth Organisation in straight three sets by 25/17, 25/23 and 25/18.
Winning the championship, Phesama YO bagged Rs 35,000 with trophy and citations while Kiruphema got Rs 25,000. In the individual category: Neithongulie Koutsu of Phesam YO was adjudged best spiker and Kedicho Pucho of Zenith Club, Kezo Town as best setter. They received Rs 5000 each. The losing semi-finalist – Neichazou Volleyball Club, Mima and Kenouzou Club Kohima also got Rs 5,000 each.
In women’s category, defending champ Elite Club Kohima overcame Tiema-Khe Kidima by straight three sets of 25/20, 25/23 and 25/13 points. Elite received Rs 25,000 with trophy and citation while Tiema-Khe Kidima bagged Rs Rs 15,000 with citation. Jevikali Achumi of Elite Club was adjudged the best spiker and Kezevile Yongo of Tiema-Khe Kidima as best setter. They received Rs 2000 each.
Commandant of 3rd Assam Rifles, Col. Debraj Bhattacharya gracing the valedictory function as special guest gave away the awards to the winners.
