Petrol, diesel prices hiked by 80 paise

Total increase now stands at Rs 5.60

DIMAPUR, MARCH 30: Petrol and diesel prices were on Wednesday hiked by 80 paise a litre each, taking the total increase in rates in the last 9 days to Rs 5.60 per litre.
Petrol in Dimapur will now cost Rs 103.65 a litre as against Rs 102.8 on March 30 while diesel rate will be Rs 90.09 a litre from March 31. Diesel in Kohima will cost nearly Rs 91 (Rs 90.98) a litre from Thursday, while petrol will be Rs 104.76 a litre.
Rates have been increased across the country and vary from State to State depending on the incidence of local taxation.
This is the 9th increase in prices since the ending of a 4-and-half-month long hiatus in rate revision on March 22.
On the first 4 occasions, prices were increased by 80 paise a litre ~ the steepest single-day rise since the daily price revision was introduced in June 2017. On the following days, petrol price went up by 50 paise and 30 paise a litre while diesel rose by 55 paise and 35 paise a litre. Petrol price was on Tuesday hiked by 80 paise a litre and diesel by 70 paise.
In all, petrol and diesel prices have gone up by Rs 5.60 per litre each.
