Dimapur, February 20: In view of the forthcoming General Lok Shabha Election 2019,and in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India regarding preventive measures to ensure conduct of peaceful, free and fair poll during the elections and to provide public safety, all Arms Licence holders under Peren District have been informed to produce their arms/weapons and Arms Licence for verification to the nearest police station as per the present address given in their Arms Licence on or before February 23, failing to comply may even lead to cancellation of Licenses as per appropriate section of law.
DC Tuensang, L. Jamithung Lotha has issued an order for the firearms verification that in view of the ensuring Lok Sabha Election 2019, it is found necessary to verify all Arms Licenses along with firearms to verify at respective police station under Tuensang District, as it is apprehended that some anti social/miscreants may disturb the peace and harmony in the district during the election process.
All Arms Licenses holders along with their firearms to verify at their nearest police station on or before March 1. Any one failing to comply with this order shall be punished under the appropriate provisions of Arms Act and Arms Rule – 2016. (Page News Service)
