Peren bans hunting, burning of jungle

Dimapur, May 1: The Peren district administration has extended the ban on fishing, hunting of wild animals and birds in any forms including air guns and burning of jungle in Peren District till further order.
The administration has authorized all village councils to identify the culprits and impose a fine of Rs 5000 against the culprits.
This was decided in coordination meeting on May 1 in the DC’s conference hall, Peren. DC Peren, Sarita Yadav IAS highlighted the 2014 DPDB resolution imposing the ban.
DFO Jalukie deliberated about the danger and preventive measures to save the areas from fire.
The District administration also instructed the village council chairman, GB’s and public leaders to take extra care about the dangers of reckless burning of jungle in the district.
