Nagaland News

Kohima, November 5: Chairman of Dapfhütsumia Khel and Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers Union president Pele Khezhie today inaugurated Rüdi Resort on Nh-29, Kohima-Phek Road, Dzüü Bridge One, Kohima.
Speaking after unveiling the monolith, Khezhie congratulated the proprietor Kevilhoutuo Yiese for the remarkable and exceptional achievement of completing the resort which is one of the first resort under D Khel of Kohima village.
Lamenting that Naga society is deprived of many recreational avenues like cinemas, parks, orchestras, play courts, resorts, etc., he said every now and then, specially in the evenings, young and old people alike loiter in every nook and corner often creating a sense of displeasure or dislike even if their intention or activities may not be evil.
“We cannot always afford to blame or point our finger at the government for the lack of infrastructure or leisure facilities. But similar to this very venture, we can come up with innovative ideas to entertain ourselves and contribute to society at the same time,” he said.
Expressing that every year Nagaland gets thousands of tourists from the country and abroad visiting the beautiful state, he hoped that Rüdi Resort will be a step forward to accommodate them and eventually lead to boosting the state’s economy as well.
Proprietor of the just opened resort, Kevilhoutuo Yiese said the place is blessed with natural beauty and a unique culture that has mesmerised many for years.
As Nagaland has grown as a must visit tourist destination, he hoped that the resort in its own capacity will be able to not only contribute but also encapsulate all the warmth and hospitality of the Naga people to the visitors.
The resort, he said has many services and facilities that anyone can enjoy, like big open spaces, a swimming pool, 4 cottages and 3 double bedded rooms to be able to accommodate any kind of budget, an in house restaurant, children’s park with cycling for a unique and fun filled family or group experience, a Naga morung within the compound to reflect the unique architectural style as a people.
Yiesie hopes to build a basketball court, an indoor stadium as well as a football turf within the resort.
Pastor of Khedi Baptist Church, Dr. Ruokuovilie Sachü offered the dedicatory prayer.
MLA Khriehu Liezietsu, Chairman Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board Dr Neiphrezo Keditsu, Chairman of Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board Kekhrie Yhome and host of dignitaries attended the inaugural programme.
