Peducha Village observes Chada Nyi

Dimapur, August 10: A unique festival of cleaning village, roads and paths leading to fields “Chada Nyi” was celebrated today by the villagers of Peducha with the initiative of Village Council. A mass social work on the theme ‘Clean is Ours’ with four group such as colony A, B, C & D respectively was conducted, who cleaned the village area and cleared all road side plants and bushes throughout NH.29 under its jurisdiction.
It may be recalled that the village is awarded Nirmal Gram Puraskar (NGP) in the year 2009 especially with the establishment of the Communication and Capacity Development Unit (CCDU) under the PHED.
Village chairman, Tsilie Suohumvü also advised the youth to play a major role for the success of the clean village mission and individual to take part in sanitation and maintain continues to rekindle mass awareness to ensure lasting behavioural change in realizing the dream of a clean.
WATSAN committee chairman, Bizo viyie expressed how privileged the village is in implementing Solid Waste Management (SWM) this year by a method which include collection, removal and safe disposal of waste with the participation of every member of the village community.
The Village Council also awarded the winner of Chada Nyi volley championship and the best group performance in cleaning the village area and surrounding. (Page News Service)
