Peace Channel Peace Award 2019 conferred to Pastor Yanbemo Lotha

Dimapur, September 21: Peace Channel commemorated International Day of Peace cum 15th Peace Channel Foundation Day on September 21 at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Wokha. During the celebration of 15th Peace Channel day Peace Channel conferred its 12th Peace Award to Yanbemo Lotha, Associate Pastor Lotha Baptist Church, Dimapur, Nagaland.
Dr. Fr. C.P. Anto, Director, Peace Channel addressed the gathering by sharing the purpose and the need to bring and build peace in the region.
The Peace award was being conferred every year since 2008 to individuals for their contribution and selfless services towards Peace building among people and relation between various communities in the State. The award seeks to encourage and set an example in acknowledging people for believing in the possibilities that Peace is possible and in tested times people have proven that for peace to prevail one must live it as a lifestyle.
Chief Guest E. Mhonbemo Patton, Principal Accountant General, Nagaland in his valedictory address stated that he was a key supporter of peace and its initiatives. He stated that the theme of the program “Transformed to transform” can only be achieved by seven key actions of peace i.e. Dream, Think, Speak, Share, Pray, Work and live for Peace. That Peace, Employment and unemployment are interlinked and directly related, where social disharmonies of various kinds are a result of unemployment where a person could indulge in activities that harm the peace of the society particularly the youth, he added.
He firmly believes that peace is dynamic and every aspect of human instinct has an influence on the inner and outer of keeping the relationship of self and on the peace equilibrium of humanity.
Yanbemo Lotha, the winner of Peace Award 2019, Peace Channel in his response that winning the award has made him feel more burdened and responsible towards the cause and work for the people.
He also thanked his family for their unconditional support towards the mission. He also elucidated about Peace Channel’s vision of making Nagaland a peaceful state by 2030 and encouraged the people of Wokha to be united and work collectively towards making the district and the state peaceful.
Marking the international day of Peace under the theme “Climate action for Peace” -Yanbemo Lotha and family has pledged to dedicate 9 hectares of virgin forest belonging to them towards promoting peace through nature.
The winner of Mr & Miss Peace Channel 2019 are Lithan E Tungoe and Yokoni Jewel O-Kinghen.
Thungchobeni bagged the 1st position for the Motivational Talk competition and Rhondeno stood the second positon.
Earlier Peace rally 2019 was flagged of by MhondamoOvung, President Lotha Hoho, Wokha and Zuchopeni Ezung, President Lotha Eloe Hoho from Don Bosco Youth Centre, Wokha.
