Kohima, March 15: The Phek District Sports Association (PDSA) is all set to conduct its 36th meet- cum- 1st Naga style category wrestling from March 23to 27 at Thenyizu village.
It will be hosted by Chokri Area Games & Sports Association.
Nagaland’s deputy chief Minister Y. Patton will be the special guest while planning & coordination, land revenue and parliamentary affairs minister Neiba Kronu will be the guest of honour.
PDSA president Nezosa Tetseo informed that the first Naga-style category Wrestling (Men) would be introduced for the first time in PDSA meet under 65 kg; below 74 kg and 86 kg.
Besides Football, Basketball and Volleyball both for men and women, the meet will also feature tracks events both for men and women – 100 metre dash; 200 metre sprint; 400 metre race; 800 metre race; 1500 metre race and 4×200 metre race and field events are Discuss throw; Javelin Throw; Shot put; Long Jump and High Jump.
Meanwhile, PDSA informed that there will be a business hour on March 22 at 4:00 PM.
The tournament patrons included; Neposo Theluo, commissioner & secretary rural development, Wezope Kenye, secretary health & family welfare, Dr. Kevichiisa Medikhru, principal director health & family welfare and Razouvolie Dozo, deputy commissioner, Phek.
