PDS Rice: MVC demand probe

Dimapur, February 18: The Medziphema Village Council (MVC) has demanded the Department of Food and Civil Supplies to institute an inquiry and also clarify the reason behind the discrepancies in distribution of PDS rice to card holders under Medziphema sub-division.
In a press release, MVC chairman Neikhonyü Kuotsu and secretary Khriengulie Kapo said PDS card holders of other sub-divisions receive 5 kgs of rice per head whereas villages under Medziphema Sub-Division card holders get 4 kgs of BPL rice per head since 2017 till date.
Drawing the attention of department on the anomalies in distribution of PDS rice, the MVC said it will no longer stand mere spectator and urged the department to conduct a proper enquiry into the matter and clarify the reasons for such discrepancies under Medziphema sub-division.
