Dimapur, June 1: People for Democratic Rights (PDR) has reminded the state Government of Nagaland about the institution of Lokayukta in the state and said the democratic government having its mandate to govern for public cannot deny its citizens their democratic rights.
The PDR demanded the government to immediately show its sincerity to fight corruption by institution the Lokayukta in Nagaland. It also demanded that the individual/s to be appointed in the Commission should be of highest integrity acceptable by the public to maintain highest sanctity and not according to political convenience.
The PDR urged the PDA government to ensure amendments to the bill providing enough power to fight corruption which is only the way out for highly corrupted system of Nagaland and usher in developed and progressive Nagaland. (Page News Service)
