PDMGDVA adopts 4-point resolution

Kohima, November 15: The Phek District Maytas Gayatri Damaged Victim’s Association (PDMGDVA) held its general meeting at Chozuba town local ground on November 14 last.

The Association stated that after thorough deliberation over pending damaged compensation for victims, whose normal lives have been severely affected for nearly 10 years now due to random construction of 2 lanning Zunheboto – Chakhabama and Pfutsero – Phek Road under Phek District, a four point resolutions has been adopted at the meeting.
The House resolved to record sincere appreciation to the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) for adoption of resolution in CPO Extended Executive Meeting on 29th June 2019 at Phek Town “to pursue the matter” of pending damaged compensation for Maytas-Gayatri (JV) damaged victims, and subsequent filing of PIL in High Court.
The House also registered deep appreciation to all VCCs & GBs of affected villages for taking bold decision to ensure that justice is delivered to the aggrieved victims.
“Therefore, reposing confidence on the wisdom and decision of CPO & petitioners of PIL, the House unanimously resolved to give full cooperation and comply with any condition set hereafter by CPO for the welfare of victims in particular & community in general.
“Taking cognizance of strong resistance and defiance of CPO’s resolution by so-called 2-Lane Sedzü to Dzülha Aggrieved Property Owners Association, the House unanimously resolved that if and when the crucial court process is affected or hampered in any manner thereof, Cizonyi Khüsoh, Convener, Veku Khüsoh, Secretary and all signatories of the premeditated complaint letter shall be held accountable and shall bear every penny of damaged compensation to Maytas-Gayatri damaged victims. In the event of their failing to make or guarantee the payment, PDMGDVA shall resort to its own course of action and for any consequential social tension or hindrance to ongoing 2 lanning road projects, the above mentioned persons shall be held entirely responsible,” the resolution stated , which was read out by PDMGDVA general secretary Kuvesa Medeo at the meeting.
Having pledged to adhere to the resolution adopted “this day the 14th Nov. 2020″ the House mandated PDMGDVA to act as sole representative of the victim community, and accordingly authorized existing office bearers to coordinate with apex body CPO & petitioners to pursue the court case up to the last till justice is brought to the doorstep of the victims.”
Earlier, Zhovehu Lohe, Vaprumu Demo and Zachilhu Vadeo spoke on behalf of CPO petitioners of PIL case for the victims and called upon the public to stay united in their fight for justice.
Other who spoke at the meeting includes CPO vice presidents Vehuswu and Süneyi, Chozuba Range Public Organization (CRPO) president Kutipra Lohe, Centre Chakhesang Public Organization (CCPO) president Nehüsa Cükhamo, PDMGDVA convenor Pushovoyi Nyekha and PDMGDVA co- convenor Vepozoyi.
The meeting was chaired by Zhopopra, co-convenor, PDMGDVA while vote of thanks was proposed by Rüdangoyi Shijoh, treasurer, PDMGDVA.
