Kohima, October 26: Affirming that NDPP candidate Medo Yhokha for the bye-election to 14-Southern Angami-I Assembly Constituency is the official consensus candidate of the ruling People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA), leaders of BJP and NDPP today appealed to the electorates to consciously elect him to be their representative.
Speaking during a PDA rally at Kitsubozou Panchayat Hall Sunday night, BJP Nagaland President and Minister for Higher & Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along, BJP National Spokesperson and Advisor for Science & Technology, IT and NRE, Mmhonlumo Kikon, NDPP Working President Nuzota Swuro, Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire, Advisor for Youth Resources & Sports Zale Neikha, Former MLA & Chairman Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board Dr Neiphrezo Keditsu wooed the electorates to cast their vote in favour of Yhokha.
Describing Yhokha as a simple, honest and humble man, Along said Yhokha has the mandate of the Chief Minister Neiphiu and PDA government, which has been working for the overall development and progress of the State.
All candidates may be good but Yhokha is the best among all of them, he said while urging the electors to cast their vote not only with feelings and emotions but by using their conscious mind.
“Give Yhokha a chance to serve for the next 2.4 years and the next time he would come to you with what he has done for the welfare of the constituency in particular and the State in general,” appealed Along.
Advisor Kikon said the Rio led PDA government is working hard to achieve an early solution because “we don’t want our children and the future generation to suffer like the present generation because of the unresolved political issue”.
Yhokha’s win will strengthen the hands of the Rio government in working towards this goal and also bringing about development and progress, he said while asking voters to cast their vote for him.
Advisor Dr Nicky asserted that once elected Yhokha would live up to the NDPP motto “deeds not words”. Appealing people’s support towards the ruling candidate, he said Yhokha losing the bye-poll would not make any difference in the government but his win will strengthen the government.
Advisor Neikha called upon the electorates not to be swayed with the political propaganda spread by opposition NPF claiming that they would soon take over the government shortly by allying with BJP, which is a pre-poll partner of the NDPP.
The PDA government is stable and will complete its term without any hindrance, he said, while alleging NPF of spreading ‘false propaganda’.
He also said that having a Tenyimia Chief Minister in the person of Neiphiu Rio to lead the Nagas is a blessing and therefore the electorates of the constituency should willfully elect Yhokha as their representative.
PDA candidate Medo Yhokha, urging electorates to endorse him, asserted that “If elected, I will work for the welfare of the colony and give equal share of development and also for the uplift of the youth and women”.
He also assured to be the representative of the Assembly Constituency in general and not only the Southern Angami villages. “Give me a chance to serve and I will reach the public with the several welfare policies and programmes of the PDA government,” Yhokha pleaded.
On behalf of the Kitsubozou Panchayat, Assistant Head GB Vituozo Kire said that the colony is in need of proper roads and bore well and therefore it is the desire of the electorates that whoever wins would have to fulfill the requirement. (Page News Service)
