PDA Govt will take Nagaland towards progress: Pangnyu

Kohima, March 10: Newly appointed Minister, S Pangnyu Phom today asserted that the new People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) Government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will bring development and take Nagaland towards progress.
He said this while addressing a mammoth gathering during the NDPP 9-Kohima Town assembly constituency thanksgiving service cum picnic over the success of NDPP candidate and former minister Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire in the recently concluded State Assembly election.
Congratulating Dr Nicky and also thanking the electorates for bring NDPP-BJP alliance to form the Government with the support of JD(U), Independent and NPP MLAs, Pangnyu, who got elected on BJP ticket, declared that solution to the long pending Naga issue would also be achieved within this tenure.
In his brief address, Pangnyu also called upon the people of Kohima town to be mirror for the rest of the State while maintaining that the Naga people elsewhere follows the steps of the capital town.
Acknowledging the peoples’ support during the elections, local MLA Dr Nicky called upon the people not to be disheartened and discouraged for his non-appointment in the council of ministers.
NDPP was unable to perform like alliance partners BJP, because of which we have to understand the problem faced by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in appointing the council of ministers.
“We want a stable government and so we from the NDPP have made the sacrifice… once stability is achieved things will improve,” he said.
Newly appointed ministers – Neiba Kronu, Metsubo Jamir and Tongpang Ozukum along with host of MLAs also attended the programme.
The celebration was held at D Khel Ground, Seikhazou, Kohima village with senior pastor of Baptist Mission Church, Rev Moa Longchari offering the invocation.
Tseivilie Meachie-o chaired the programme while vote of thanks was tendered by NDPP 9-Kohima Town A/C president Zotuo Kire. Special number was presented by Music Academy Kohima.
