NDPP, BJP reaffirm ‘development for all’

Dimapur, March 8: The ruling People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) in Nagaland completed three years in office on Monday, but did not organize any celebratory events and programmes in view of the pandemic and as a gesture of genuine concern and to support the austerity drive of the State Government.


In a statement, the NDPP, the major partner of the coalition, extended fullest support to the PDA Government in carrying forward the future policies and programmes of the Government “with the hope and belief that the visions and commitment of the PDA will continue beyond the present tenure.”
The NDPP also reaffirmed to stand firm in its commitment to provide development and progress to the people in consonance with the slogan “development for all; together with all!”
The party also praised God Almighty for guiding and blessing the PDA Government thus far, and also expressed gratitude to the various tribal hohos, civil society organizations, NGOs and the citizens of Nagaland for their support without which the Government would not have managed to run the affairs of the State smoothly these last three years.
The NDPP also extended gratitude to alliance partners, the BJP and the Independent, for their unwavering support in taking forward the visions and commitments of the PDA Government.
“It is our firm belief that this partnership will only grow from strength to strength and will continue to carry forward the dreams and aspirations of the people,” it said while lauding the PDA Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for having steered the State despite the many difficulties involved especially during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
BJP: The Bharatiya Janata Party, Nagaland State Unit also congratulated the People’s Democratic Alliance Government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton for completing 3 years in office today.
State BJP president Temjen Imna Along said the journey has been challenging, but the PDA comprising of legislators from the BDPP and BJP and the lone Independent have been delivering the goods to the people.
“The PDA Government has not shied away from its responsibilities entrusted by the people through their precious mandate,” he claimed.
“These last 3 (Three) years saw Nagaland and its people in challenging situations – such as the excessive rains that wreaked havoc in 2018 and the global COVID-19 pandemic which brought the world to its knees. Throughout these tumultuous times, the PDA Government remained grounded and committed to its Common Minimum Programme; and focused on the emergencies at hand. Even today, the Government remains alert and responsive to the challenges ahead and we will not waver in our bounden duty to uphold the welfare of the people.”
The BJP placed on record its appreciation to the rank and file of the NDPP led by president Chingwang Konyak, the lone Independent legislator Tongpang Ozukum, as well as the rank and file of the BJP Nagaland State Unit. He also appreciated the Opposition NPF led by Leader of Opposition TR Zeliang who joined hands with the Government in reaching out to the people, cutting across party lines, when the pandemic was at its raging height.
“The grim pandemic situation also brought out the beauty of politics and democracy whereby everyone, irrespective of affiliations or ideologies, worked together for the common well-being of the people,” he said.
Imna Along also appreciated the Church, NGOs, CSOs, tribal hohos etc for working tirelessly in various capacities towards a final solution to the protracted Naga political Issue. He appreciated all the Naga political groups engaged in the peace process with the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a peaceful resolution that is inclusive and honourable to all sections of Naga society.


On its part, the BJP Nagaland State Unit assured to work tirelessly in fulfilling the Government’s and the party’s commitments to the people.
The State BJP president also sounded a clarion call to all to reap the benefits of the BJP led NDA Government’s mantra “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” (Together With All, Development For All, Trust of All) so that Nagaland and its people can scale greater heights in all parameters of good governance and development of livelihood assets in the days ahead.
