Dimapur, February 24: A PDA delegation led by Nagaland BJP president & Minister for Higher Education & Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along on Wednesday called on Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal at his official residence in New Delhi.
The delegation congratulated the Union Minister for the new National Educational Policy and appraised the Union Minister on the activities of the State Higher Education & Technical Department. They also thanked the Union Minister for considering Central schemes in the State under RUSA 2.0.
The delegation appreciated the Union Minister for reviving RUSA 3.0 with more strength, which they said will be a boon for the State of Nagaland in particular and North East States in general. The requested the Union Minister for a Professional College of Horticulture under ongoing RUSA 2.0 and establishment of NITTTER in the State.
Along also highlighted the difficulties faced by the State of Nagaland & North East States, and requested the Union Minister to consider the mountain terrain States in implementation of the scheme.
A press release issued by the PRO (IPR), Nagaland House, New Delhi informed that the Union Minister patiently listened to all the points shared by the delegation, and congratulated the State for successful implementation of RUSA scheme. The Union Minister said he will consider the request of Professional College of Horticulture & Establishment of NITTTER in the State.
Stating that he will look into the guideline for mountain and difficult States for more effective implementation of the scheme, the Union Minister in presence of the delegation called the DONER Minister in-charge and requested him to call a meeting with the State along with him to discuss the problems faced by the NE States in the field of education.
