PD DRDA Phek inaugurates Resource Center building at Zapami
Zapami (Phek), May 5: Project Director District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Phek, Razukhru D. Vasa today inaugurated the newly constructed Resource Center building of Zapami village at the historic Pine Hill on the outskirts of the village in Pfutsero sub-division, Phek district.
This resource center was initiated by Village Development Board (VDB) Zapami and construction of the building has been materialized through the support of the department of Rural Development, Nagaland.
This resource center will host all sorts of camping activities, seminars, workshops and also serve as a farmer school, instruction centre for artisans, entrepreneurs etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Vasa lauded the excellent performance of Zapami VDB and judicious utilization of funds being provided by the government.
He lamented that the government has been extending lots of funds to the villages but many fail to utilize the fund for its purpose.
He called upon other VDBs to adopt the model of Zapami for all round development.
Appreciating the well-setting of Zapami village, he said the village is progressing in a systematic manner.
He maintained that the village will flourish as long as unity, good leadership and good vision prevail.
He also urged upon the village to capitalize their strength and potential to boost the economy of the masses.
Block Development Officer (BDO), Pfutsero, Vekhrolo Koza said that this resource centre is the first of its kind at the VDB level in Phek district and lauded the good initiative of Zapami VDB. The BDO was also appreciative of the Village Vision 2030 document, which aims at making Zapami as “Smart Village.”
Zapami VDB secretary Kedoutsolhi Wetsa said that this resource centre is one of the components of Zapami Vision 2030. He informed that the building was completed within 5 months at the total cost of Rs. 24 lakh.
Chaired by EAC Pfutsero Dr Riku Khutso the dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Pastor of Zapami Baptist Church Chikhro Khutso while Village Council Chairman Zapami Tewelhi Khutso delivered the welcome address and GB Zapami Neingulo Khutso tendered the vote of thanks. Welcome song was presented by Wekhazü Kreo & friends and a special tune by Lezhiekro. Associate Pastor ZBC Tekhewe Khutso offered benediction.
