
Wokha, SEPTEMBER 15: BJP’s national president Jagat Prakash Nadda today asserted that except for the certain unresolved issues of Naga political struggle, which is being looked into by his State BJP leaders, the Northeast has become an ‘insurgency free region’.
Addressing a massive party rally held in Old Riphyim Village, Wokha, the home village of Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, Nadda wearing the traditional Naga head-gear and waist coat, said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP Government at the Centre has set a target of resolving all disputes of the Northeast.
“The Karbi Anglong Agreement was signed in 2021. This agreement is in synergy with the vision of insurgency-free prosperous Northeast. That envisages all-round development of the Northeast, peace and prosperity. The Tripura Agreement was signed on August 10, 2019. For permanent settlement of Bru families, Bru accord has been signed. Similarly, the Bodo Peace Accord was signed in 2020 to resolve the long pending Bodo issues”, he said.
Without dwelling much on the Naga Political Issue and the 2018 State election slogan of the BJP “Election for Solution”, Nadda there are certain issues in the Naga Accord signed in 2015, which are being looked into by Patton and Temjen Imna Along, Minister and BJP Nagaland President.
Nadda further stated that it is really an opportunity for the people of Nagaland and people of India that under the dynamic leadership of the Prime Minister Modi, the country is prospering at a very high speed taking big leaps as far as development is concerned.
“I am also happy to note that Nagaland is also not left Behind We are committed to the speedy growth of Nagaland”, he said.
Saying that Nagaland is a land of festivals and it is a land whose people fought for the national aspirations, Nadda paid rich tributes to freedom fighters of Nagaland who fought against the British to protect the native people with the support of villagers.
“We also remember that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose established the first Azad Hind Administered Village in Naga Hills in Ruzazou village in Phek district”, he said.
Lauding the present tribal leaders of Nagaland who are also protecting the tribal culture of the State, he said Nagaland is a home of 16 tribes and all the 16 tribes have been fighting to restore and to conserve the culture of Nagaland.
“If anyone has truly recognised the problems and issues of our tribal society and seriously addressed their issues, it is one and only our Prime Minister Modi”, he said.
The development journey under the leadership of Modi has got a lot of support from the States of the Northeast, known as Ashtalakshmi in the present Government, he said
“Under the leadership of Modi, the Northeast in New India is becoming the new engine of India’s development A plan has been prepared to revive the development of the Northeast on the basis of Highway, Railway, Waterway, Airway”, he said adding that Modi has changed the ‘Look East’ policy to ‘Act East’ policy.
The Modi-led BJP Government is committed to the all-round development of the Northeast region, he said, asserting that the Government of India is committed to making the Northeast an economic hub connecting Southeast Asia under the Act East Policy.
In his speech, Patton said that every household in his constituency has framed a picture of Prime Minister Modi and the lotus while waiting for the upcoming election.
“In Nagaland, BJP has the highest registered membership among various political parties of the State”, he said, adding that the people of Nagaland and BJP Karyakartas are optimistically yearning to have a “Double Engine” Government one day, for which he sought Nadda’s constant blessings and guidance in making the dreams and aspirations a reality.
“We want to bloom lotus in Nagaland and therefore allow us to do so under your leadership”, Patton pleaded to Nadda.
Patton also conveyed gratefulness to the Prime Minister for his vision “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Viswas, Sabka Prayaas”. BJP karyakartas are privileged to be a part of this great vision which shall ensure creation of New India, including State of Nagaland, he said.
Nagaland BJP president and Minister for Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along termed Nadda’s visit to Riphyim as a red letter day for Nagas. “The BJP President came to Riphyim because of the trust on Patton’s leadership and also to take blessings for the Party from the villagers”, said Along.
