Dimapur, January 17: The third day programme of 8th State level Mimkut Mini Hornbill Festival was graced by Deputy Chief Minister, Y. Patton.
Patton reminded the gathering not to forget the Lt. Lengjang Kuki who was one of the members to sign the Simon Commission in 1929. He extended greetings to the Kuki community on behalf of the Government of Nagaland on the occasion.
The Deputy Chief Minister was accompanied by Kashiho, Minister for Soil, Geology & Mining; Kazheto Kinimi, Advisor CAWD; Dr Longri Niken, Advisor for Directorate of Treasury & Border Affairs; H Haiying, Advisor for Printing & Stationary; Namri Nchang, Advisor Water Resources Department.
Welcome address and presentation was delivered by Alun Hangsing, NCS, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland. Highlights of the programme were presentation of melody by Irine Gangte, 17 tribes unity dance by KSU Chumukedima, YSU Phaipijang and YSU Dimapur, tribal music display by men &women, Kuki cultural troupes from various villages, etc.
