PAT on MR campaign briefs DC Wokha


Dimapur, September 17: Preparatory assessment team for Wokha district on Measles Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign led by consultant for UNICEF representing GoI, Daya Singh and WHO SMO, Dr. Sheila Longkumer held a short briefing with the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS on September 13 at his office chamber. The team apprised the DC about the implementation policy on MR vaccination to be done in the district level which will kick start from October 3.
To ensure that not a single child miss out on immunization, the department is doing all the needful exercises in collecting detail figures and targets for which the team has already covered/toured Bhandari, Sanis, Chukitong and Wozhuro Block.
During the interaction the Deputy Commissioner requested the team to conduct meeting with the Asha and Anganwadi workers so that actual figure/data is collected for successful vaccination of the campaign. He stated that community awareness is very important for which all stalk holders, NGOs, churches, schools and public need to be sensitized before the start of the campaign.
Beside the UNICEF team the meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Wokha, Dr. Robin Mozhui, DPRO Wokha and other medical officers.
