
Dimapur, January 23: Parakram Diwas or Desh Prem Diwas was observed to honour the 125th Jayanti or Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at the State Party Office of National People’s Party (NPP) at Thahekhu/Kevijau, Dimapur on January 23.
A press release informed that the event was organised by the NPP State Minority Cell (Non-Tribal) and was graced by the President of NPP, Nagaland State, Dr. Anrew Ahoto Sema as chief guest.
After unfurling the National Flag, Sema spoke to the gathering about the life and works of Bose and how he had brought about great changes in the freedom struggle of the country.
He encouraged the gathering to emulate the values of courage, truth and justice as reflected through the life of Netaji.
The other highlights of the occasion included lighting of lamps and singing of the National Anthem as a mark of tribute and respect to the leader.
