DIMAPUR, MARCH 11: Minister for Health and Family Welfare S Pangnyu Phom appealed to the people of Longleng district to continue working together for all-round development of the district. He was addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of District Hospital Longleng on March 10.
The Health minister appealed to the people to avail the Covid-19 vaccine to control and contain the spread of the virus. He also appealed to the Health officials for early completion of the DPR, pursue post creation of employees and other follow-up action for early functioning of the hospital with full facilities.
Pangnyu expressed gratitude to the District Task Force, frontline workers, government officers, civil societies, PBCA and the church for their contribution. He added that Longleng hospital was the only one in the state with CHC status during the Covid-19 crisis.
DC Longleng, M Shayung Phom pointed out that the Covid-19 pandemic was a blessing in disguise for Longleng district as lots of unexpected development took place for upliftment of the hospital during the period.
Director of Health, H&FW, Dr. Neikhrielie Khimiao asserted that the department alone cannot develop the hospital and sought active support and cooperation from the people.
Giving a brief overview of the project, Moanaro, Executive Engineer of Medical Engineering Division, informed that it will be a 50-bed hospital with an estimated cost of Rs 12 crore. She said that DPR is being prepared and would be completed soon. (Page News Service)
