Dimapur, November 5: ‘NSACS Youth App’ was launched by State Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom at his office chamber, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima on November 5.
Congratulating Nagaland State AIDS Control Society for coming up with its first mobile app, the Minister hoped that the youth friendly app will be a good platform to serve the young people and connect them with any HIV related queries or information and participate in HIV prevention activities.
The app is a total package that features all youth related social media platforms that NSACS offers such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and website. Another feature of the app is that it connects the users to two main information tools developed by the National AIDS Control Organization called the National HIV/AIDS Helpline 1097 and the NACO AIDS App. It is just a click away to connect the users to access any information relating to HIV and AIDS.
With the launch of the app, very soon NSACS will be conducting an online quiz competition for Red Ribbon Club members enrolled in colleges across Nagaland. Similarly, such HIV awareness activities will be conducted from time to time for the youth through the app.
The minister urged young people to download the app and be informed citizens on HIV/AIDS. The app can be downloaded from any android mobile phone through Google play store.
Dr K Vikato Kinimi, Project Director, NSACS and Metevinuo Sakhrie, Joint Director IEC along with the officers and staff from IEC and TI division were present during the launching of the app.
